Documentary Photography Propsal

Nature proposal

Nature evaluation

I chose to do nature because you can see things in a whole new way and notice things in nature you wouldn't notice normally and the beauty nature holds.
This was the first picture I chose for my nature photography, this was taken in my house in a bunch of flowers, I chose this because I thought the colours of flowers looked really cool and 2 of them were next to them. I also chose it because it was only these 2 flowers in focus so your eye is drawn straight to the subject I want you to see. If I was to improve I would try and get more focus on the flowers because the main thing in focus is the green part underneath the flower. Overall I like this picture because of the range of colour in the flowers it shows what nature is actually like..
This was the second picture I chose. I chose this because it shows nature during autumn and the beauty of it. You can see all the leaves turning orange (which I photoshopped more orange) to make it look different. It makes it look like a lane covered by nature. If I was to improve this picture I could of edited the leaves slightly different or edit all the leaves including the ones at the end of the picture. Overall I think this is a good picture because it shows how nature changes in different seasons and how it never looks the same.
This was the 3rd picture I chose. I chose this because the colours of the flowers stood out to me and you can still see the rain drops on them and you can see the difference between them and the other nature around them. I also edited it so the flowers would stand out even more to the background. If I was to improve this picture  I would get more focus on all the flowers and maybe leave it in colour and catch the eye by the flowers being in focus. Overall I think the picture is good because you can see more colours of nature and not everything is green.
This was the last picture I chose for nature. I chose this because it shows the difference in nature, it shows the green leaves and red berries, it just shows how colours you wouldn't put together still look good in nature. If i was to improve I would maybe get closer to the berries so they are more the main focus. Overall I think the picture is good because it shows that nature has a variety of colours and still looks good with colours you wouldn't really put together.

Architecture Evaluation

I think my architecture photography were the best pictures I took for this unit. I showed buildings in a way you wouldn't really look at them by using different angles to take the picture.
This was the first picture that I took in Manchester. I chose this building because I thought it had an interesting texture and colour. I chose this angel because not many people look at buildings like this and you can see the texture well on the lower brick but can still see all the way to the top of the building. To improve this picture I could of got less sky in the picture and more building. Overall I think I took this picture quite well using manual focus on the camera to get a good view of the closer part so you can see the definition in the texture.
This was the second picture I chose from my pictures I took whilst in Manchester. I chose this because I thought it was an amazing piece of architecture, the way the water fell down each piece of slab and down the leaves looked awesome. To improve I could of kept the camera more straight, it is slightly skewed because of the angle I took it from because I had to crouch. Overall I think it is a good piece of photography because you can see all the detail in the architecture and still see the water splash but not look too over exposed which was quite hard to do because water can reflect a lot of light so I had to mess about with the settings of the camera a lot.
This was the 3rd picture I chose. I chose this because again it is an amazing piece of architecture and it has also been in manchester for years, everyone in Manchester knows what building this is because it is the only Cathedral in Manchester so this building has seen a lot of history and is what makes Manchester a city. If I was to improve this picture I could of stood further back and get more of the building in the picture or even the top part of the spike. Overall I think it was a good picture because you can see each level of the building and you can see the colour of the bricks and the difference in some of them. It is also a different angle to a normal picture of it.

This was the 4th picture I chose. I chose this because it shows some of Manchesters older architecture and what it has been through, you can see this building has been abandoned for a while because of the nature growing out of it. It is also special because in a few years it probably won't be there because Manchester will probably knock it down a put a new one up there so it is a good picture to take to try and keep history in this picture. If I was to improve this picture I could of either stood further back or pointed the camera up more to get the other point in the building in the picture. Overall I think it was a good picture because you can see some of the history of Manchester through this picture as it used to be a post office. It was also a different angel to many other people's but a similar angle to one I did for the Cathedral so they sort of link.

This was my 5th and final picture I took. This was my favourite of all the pictures I took, I think the picture is taken very well, you can see the reflection of the clouds on the building and you can see the texture of the building and you can see everything it is made of. It also shows some of the modern architecture in Manchester and shows the varieties of architecture and buildings in Manchester. To improve this picture I could of used a slower shutter speed to get more light in the picture and got more detail in the sky. Overall I think it is a good picture because it shows a modern building in a way it hasn't been shown before and it shows the detail of the building well.
